Finding and Booking the
Right DJ
TIPS:
- Book Early
- Solid Planning
- Best Value
Book Early
Remember that the best go fast. Quality service providers
are in high demand and need to be secured as soon as you set
your date. You can always fill in the details as you get closer
to your wedding day, if needed.
Solid Planning
Remember three keys to successful planning:
- Ask questions
- Never be afraid to ask too many questions or to ask about
services offered. Be sure what comes with your package. Check
what other services or features may be available.
- Give/get details
- Be sure to get/give all details. Be specific about what you
expect - the music content, sound system and lighting effects,
room layout, electrical and space requirements, and schedule
of events.
- Write it all down
- That way everyone will know what is expected of them. Never
assume anything. Be sure of song titles and artist. Be specific
with music likes and dislikes. Be sure names for introductions
are pronounced properly. Include any special events or activities.
Best Value
Cheap is never good, but most expensive may not be your best
value. There are too many desperate beginners and hobbyists who
will (if they show up at all) perform for very little money.
They all lack the experience, music library and equipment necessary
to provide you with the quality reception you deserve. Professional
performers are generally more expensive, but have more invested.
They have quality sound and lighting as well as back-up equipment,
large music libraries, dependable transportation, and proper
attire. They will be willing to spend whatever time is needed
with you to properly plan your event. They can handle any situation
that may arise. Get references from known wedding service providers.
Then ask price and book the best value for your money.
